Salinas Valley Charros & Escaramuza El Centenario

Watsonville, CA – It is a festive finale on the last day of the Fair.

The main arena (which hosted a horse show over the weekend) became the stage for the Charro Show. This year, the Salinas Valley Charros were joined by the Escaramuza El Centenario, a Charra group of highly skilled horse women.

The riders are in harmony with their beautiful horses… asking them to dance around the ring with great flare. They move to the live music of Los Reyes de la Banda.

The sport has been described as “living history” or as an art form drawn from the demands of a working life.

This Charro Show features a Brahman Bull. The gentle beast lets kids hop on his back to pose for photos.
